Comfort (6/10)
It’s a little cheap feeling in my opinion. For something so expensive, I was hoping for something leather-wrapped, or some kind of Soft-Tac feel like on some ballpoint pens that cost 90% less. There is also an adjustable weight cartridge that you can set to your preference. I thought the mouse needed more weight because of the lack of feel (kind of like a comparison of a cheap pen compared to an expensive pen) so I put the maximum weight which is (1.7grams * 4 + 4.5 grams *4 = 24.8 grams ). There is your standard 4-way scroll wheel, useful for scanning large pages, as well as a two button thumb area that allows you to navigate nicely through the browser’s history. Overall this mouse shouldn’t be known for its comfort, but where it lack, it more than makes up in other areas.
Performance (8/10)
Performance is where this mouse differentiates itself from Razers or Microsoft mice. We’re talking about up to 2000dpi (read really, really high) tracking resolution for pinpoint precision, and up to 1000 reports/second for hardware accuracy. These specs alone more than make up for the lack of gratification that you get from sitting in a leather chair as opposed to a wood chair with a cushion!
Price (10/10)
These babies are on the inexpensive side these days. All the younger kids want those wireless mice and I say, it’s more convenient to not have to charge your batteries every day, and then end up having to replace them after a few months. Gamers need wired, and compared to the competition, this G5 has a lower price point.
Overall (8/10)
Oh why not, if you had the money, why don’t you just go buy yourself the most expensive mouse out there. Maybe you’re looking at gaming mice because all your friends have gaming mice? Maybe you’re tired of paying for the best and getting nothing in return? Well consider the Logitech G5 during your online window shopping because Logitech has an inexpensive, high-performing mouse for you.
